WEF sponsored the “Festival of Color with Mika Singh” event at Bull Run Park, Centreville, VA on April 9th, 2017, and it was well attended by over 5000 attendees. It was a great launch pad for our budding organization and we were able to reach out to a lot of community leaders and members.

In September, WEF hosted a Women Self-Defense workshop in partnership with Fairfax County Police Department. FCPD officers provided safety tools and tips and it was a well-attended workshop.

In January 2018, WEF hosted a Career Workshop at Cascades Library in Sterling, VA.
It was attended by over 80 women who came to explore the various career options. We had speakers representing many different industries and panelist who provided career guidance to the attendees. It was attended by women looking to enter the job market, or interested in other career paths, many women interested to start their own business attended this workshop as well.

In April 2018, WEF organized an Interview Skills workshop that helped women looking to improve their resume writing, interview skills, and presentation skills. 3 highly talented speakers presented different topics that covered the job application & interview process. It was a very well perceived event.

In June 2018, WEF hosted a DV Seminar at Reston Regional Library. We had wonderful speakers who spoke about their own life struggles and how they overcame them. Our Keynote speaker discussed her own personal experience while working at the State Department and personal life. It was an emotionally charged and highly engaging event.

On 24th JUNE, WEF organized a Domestic Violence Seminar at Reston Library, 11925 Bowman Towne Dr, Reston VA.

Domestic Violence is a serious issue in our society. Women Empowerment Foundation is honored to have a group of strong women speak of our cause and bring awareness to our community, so many joined us at the WEF Domestic Violence seminar.
